Corporate Event Magic Recap!
Novus International at Terminus 330
in Atlanta, GA

This event was an evening networking reception for Novus International, a company specializing in healthy and sustainable protein production.  Employees of Novus were flown in from around the world to attend a multiple-day conference, and this was an opportunity for them to wind down from a day of education.  Little did they know, this event would be a bit more magical than they may have anticipated.

The event was set to start at 5:30 PM at the Terminus 330 event venue in Atlanta, GA.  I arrived right around 4:30 to get a lay of the land.  I was hired to perform 2.5 hours of strolling magic, which involves me “strolling” through the crowd, performing magic close-up for small groups.  Guests began to trickle in around 5:20, and by 5:30, I was wandering through the crowd, ready to mystify my first group of the night.

As I wandered from group to group, I performed illusions such as Ring on Keys

and Pool Ball From Wallet.

As you can see from the videos, guests were receptive, engaged, and enjoying the illusions.  In fact, many times throughout the event, participants would grab friends and colleagues walking by and encourage them to join in on the magical experience!

As the event progressed, there began to be a “buzz” amongst the guests about the magician.  And at this point, many guests were inviting me over to perform magic for their group.  Once I finished with one group, I would scan the room for a group I had not yet performed for, but often they would beat me to the punch and wave me over.  My goal is always, by the end of the event, to perform for as many guests as possible, while still showing each group plenty of magic to leave them amazed!

This event was 2.5 hrs long for 120 guests, and during that time, I was able to perform for the vast majority of the guests.  In fact, I ended up giving second performances for many groups as the end of the event drew closer.  The length of the event allowed me to spend plenty of time with each group to ensure they had a magical and memorable experience.

Evening networking receptions are always some of my favorite events to work.  Guests are usually happy to be able to relax after a full day of sessions, and this makes them very receptive.  They know they are there to have fun and enjoy themselves.  Many times, the guests are unaware that there will be a magician at the event, so this makes it fun to mingle amongst the crowd and perform unexpected illusions!

A major benefit of strolling magic at a networking event like this is that it breaks the ice with guests and allows them to connect over an amazing experience.  Many of these guests will talk about their bent coin or signed card with their colleagues for weeks, months, or even years later when they see each other.
