Corporate Event Magic Recap!
Cosmos Labs at Tiny Boxwoods In Austin, TX

This event was for a company called Cosmos Labs that specializes in manufacturing beauty products such as Native Deodorant.  I was hired by Pearl Events Austin, who I have worked with many times before.  The wonderful owner of Cosmos Labs, Mary Berry, had seen me at another event that I was contracted for by Pearl Events, and she hired me to perform at this event for her employees.

The event was held at the Rosemary Room event space at Tiny Boxwoods in Austin, TX.

As always, I arrived 30 minutes prior to the start of the event.  This allows me to get set up and find a space to store my bag.  This was a smaller event for around 25 guests, and I was contracted for 2 hours of Mingling Magic with a 30 minute break in there for the guests to eat dinner.

The event was set to start at 6PM, and around that time, guests began to trickle in.  Once a few groups had formed, I got to work.  Since the event was quite small, I got to spend plenty of time with each group I approached. The “cocktail hour” lasted around 30-40 minutes and allowed guests to grab a drink and mingle with each other casually.

By the time everyone was seated for dinner, I had performed magic for just about everyone at the event.

Once guests were seated, Mary began a short speech for the group, after which dinner was served.  During this period, I took a break and prepared some new effects to perform for everyone.  Once guests were finished eating and plates were picked up, I started performing for guests at the tables again.  I performed effects such as the Magazine Prediction

and the $100 Bill In Lime.

These effects played to the larger groups seated at the tables.  But I still performed close-up effects such as the Coin Transposition.

Depending on the circumstances, close-up effects like this can sometimes play to a bigger group since everyone can see the participant react to the effect.

For the remainder of the event, I performed for each end of the 2 tables.  I performed sets that were around 10-12 minutes in length.  If this was a larger event, I would have had to shorten the set length so that I could get around to more guests, but the intimate nature of this event allowed me to spend more time with the groups.  I varied the effects I performed at each table in case guests at the other table wanted to watch.

By the end of event, tons of magic had been performed, and many astonished faces had been captured by the photographer Victoria Trevino.  Intimate events like this always allow me to connect with the guests a bit deeper than I would at a larger event.  I am able to spend more time with them, and they will often ask me questions about how (or why 😁) I do what I do.  If you are looking for an Austin magician for your event, don’t hesitate to reach out here!
